Not the end-all of games

There are tons of games that will sell better than Halo 3. Halo fanboys try to tell you not to count certain games, when saying Halo is the best. Everything counts. Pokemon counts. Madden will count, and it'll sell 4+ million. It'll probably sell 5-6 million like ever other Madden game has for the past decade. GTA games sold REALLY well. There's no logic that says GTA 4 can't sell 5 million copies, maybe more.

Well, you caring isn't really the point...

You may not care if Sony goes down, but you probably should. If the PS3 continues to do poorly, then less publishers will make games for it. You say you already own the system, so you don't care what happens. I think when there are spans with no new games (think end of life of Gamecube) I think you will care a lot.

Sorry, RPG fans, but this won't be your first original Final Fantasy RPG for the PSP. It turns out this game will be a fighting game featuring characters from the Final Fantasy franchise. It could end up being a great game, but this sure reigns of disappointment with hardcore FF fans.

Just a lame Mii too service

The avatar creation sounds like a Mii too service and the online 3D world will probably be just be a huge online advertisement for Sony and third party publishers. Sony will probably be charging via micro-transactions for anything cool that people might actually want in their private area. Sounds to me like a lame MMO with no fighting (the only thing cool in MMOs).

Too expensive, Japanese retailers cut prices to move stock

Sony won't admit that the system is too expensive, but retailers are starting to. Retailers in Japan are dropping the price of the system to move stock. It will mean more systems in customers' hands, but the retailers won't be too happy at the lost profits.

Sony is the short term winner in this situation because more of their systems will be sold to consumers who will buy games and Blu-ray movies without taking even more of a loss per system, but the retailers are instead ... [read more]

Yeah PS3's are sitting in every store because nobody wants them. High price with few games available doesn't make for a very good case at getting a system.

Not sure what system you are talking about

Not sure what system you are talking about, but 360 games are in HD and most of them look better than anything on the PS3. Gears of War is far superior in graphics than PS3's best looking game (Resistance). The games that were on both systems have consistently been better looking on the 360.

Halo Wars is an RTS, not an RPG

Sorry, but Halo Wars is going to be an RTS (Real Time Strategy) game and not an RPG. It definately will be awesome, but they definately won't put it out too soon after Halo 3 because they'll want to let Halo fans have time to play Halo 3 on Live for a while.

Nintendo's plan of reaching the average consumer who is not interested in games may work well, but the implications of a major console being in the hands of average consumers who will buy less games may be a profitability stumbling block.
