exactly what games are there for the Wii? i was under the impression that the lack of games was one of the systems major faults, if its only fault. Wii-sports and other multiplayer games are only fun with multiple people, Zelda is basically a port from the GC version and theres no Mario or Metroid game on it yet, as vigorously over-used those franchises are; theyre what makes a Nintendo console a Nintendo console. ... hideo kojima said that the title, mgs4 is exclusive to ps3 hardware. it will not be ported to anything else; its just too impractical to think you can do so by launch time in 08 Q1.

I'm sure, by what you've said, you've never actually played a ps3 game with motion sensing. It handles very differently then the wii. you're not wagging the controller around, its mostly just swaying it side to side, or twisting it and stuff like that.

look at the demographic

the wii reaches out to a much broader demographic, marketing primarily to children, families and older women. where as the ps3 markets to the intelligent and somewhat over serious gamer. now the hard gamer is a large pool of users, but its vastly overshadowed by what the wii targets. this is to say that the ps3 will do fine, but the wii will do better.

this game will definately help convince non-ps3 owners to want the ps3 a little more, but its not going to be THE ultimate deciding factor. if anything itll just help a few more people who are on the fence about ps3 to get one.

are you really that closed minded to think that sales determine the quality of a game? if this were true then the wii would be such an amazing system that there wouldnt be a place for the ps3 and 360 on the market.

but yet somehow there is, because as time goes on, people begin to realize that its just the same crap, with a slightly new edge to it, and the hype isn't backed by internal hardware at all.

but history will show that with real competition, nintendo never plays their cards right.

GC + wiimote = wii

*sigh*  dont get me wrong, the wii is fun, and it fills a huge new niche of casual gamers, but its not the all powerful end all to the gaming war. But in all honesty, the wii is only fun when you're playing with other people, as single player is ALWAYS boring and repeatitive.

if i am not mistaken, GC sales diminished over the course of its short lived time as a viable console, dropping lower and lower over time. where as, and i don't have anything to back me up on this, but if rumor is true, the sales of the ps3 have been stable  linearally, if you take out the surge when they dropped the price.

i would play my ps1 and ps2 games on my ps1 and ps2, but the systems died on me, the ps after 8 years and the ps2 after 4, and id rather not buy the old systems again just for that purpose. eitherway, 360 backwards compatibility is still horrible compared to ps3
