PS3 preorders sell out in mere seconds

I took an early lunch to go to EB Games to preorder the console as soon as they opened, and low and behold, the guy in front of me got the last one.

The store associate told me that they only got 5 systems to preorder, and a friend, who is a store manager of a Gamestop store, told me they were only getting 16 systems for launch. This is pretty ridiculous that the number 1 game store in the world is only getting 5-16 systems at launch.

However, it looks as if Sony's recent bad press hasn't phased fan boys because there were people waiting in line as early as 8pm last night. They were waiting for 14 hours outside in the cold just to get a reserve!

This bodes well for Sony if their loyal followers will stick with them through thick and thin. Although many people will be disappointed this holiday season, they all still want the PS3 and will go to incredible lengths to get it. Who wants to predict the highest price for the system on ebay 2 weeks before Christmas?
