Pro: Nintendo Wii

Third party support wanted, but not necessary
Wii should have third-party support, but it sure doesn't “need” it to last. Granted, the N64 and Gamecube ended up third in their respective generations, but a third place position that made tons of profit is much better than landing in the red and giving up(Sega). Nintendo is making money on every console sold, while Sony continues to lose money on system sales. Nintendo is so incredibly financially sound and has so many game development resources that the Wii and DS could last on first and second party titles alone.
Remember, Nintendo is the #2 largest publisher of video games, they are only behind the massive force of EA. The N64 and Gamecube both managed to survive an entire generation with very little third-party support(coming in third does not make them a failure, they were both very profitable). With the Wii being half the price of the other consoles, and Nintendo having the ability to cut the price any time they want, the Wii will always have a decent-sized market among people that don't want to shell out so much money for a casual gaming console. The Wii is attracting casual and non-gamers like no other console before, and that's why it's still selling out... not because it's a fad.
Also, the Wii is a huge "party" console. Those mini-games might get boring playing by yourself but they almost never get old when you've got people over. And that's another great thing about it, it's a great reason to have some friends over and play multiplayer games in person again. The fun I'm having with the Wii reminds me a lot of the fun I had with the N64 and Goldeneye or Super Smash Bros.
Anyway, at the end of the day, I would definitely like to see some strong third-party support and quality titles, and it looks like this time, third party publishers are starting to make some interesting and unique games that are coming out this fall. Nintendo's doing a pretty good job of giving us good titles only six months in (best first six months of any console ever, as far as I'm concerned). The Wii and DS don't “need” third party support, but Nintendo has got it this time around which means the Wii is going to have a killer library.
